The works announcement for the construction of the Fortuna Ethnographic Museum has been published (13/11/2018)

The Museum will be installed on the ground floor of the old Almazara on Calle de la Cruz and will be a strategic place to boost local tourism by putting our historical heritage in value.

The base bidding budget is € 66,661, which is part of the € 200,000 financing that the Leader Plan has allocated to Fortuna.

This morning the announcement of the tender by the City of Fortuna for the completion of the future Ethnographic Museum of the town has already been officially published.

The base bidding budget of this project reaches € 66,661, of which a large part will be borne by the grants obtained through the Leader Plan, which will allocate a total of € 200,000 in Fortuna.

The end date for the presentation of the bid for the completion of these works will end at 2:00 p.m. on December 3 and once this procedure is completed, it is expected that in a few months the transformation work will begin on the ground floor of the old Almazara of the street of the Cross, yielded to the City council by the neighbor Miguel Núñez Navarro, to lodge this Ethnographic Museum.

This ethnographic museum project is in addition to the other projects promoted by the City of Fortuna through the Leader Plan, such as the improvement of access to the Spa and the Camping, the drafting of a Master Plan for the Roman baths, the reconstruction of the Fountain of the villa and laundry of Hoya Hermosa and the realization of a plan against architectural barriers.

Indicate municipal sources that this cultural space will be in the urban center of the municipality, "which is going to suppose a valorization of its surroundings, with a great social, cultural and economic repercussion for the locality." The creation of the Ethnographic Museum will suppose the arrival of new tourists and visitors who will find more leisure offer linked to thermal and indoor tourism in the municipality ".

The mayor of Fortuna, José Enrique Gil, has been very satisfied with the start-up of the Museum.

"The creation of the Ethnographic Museum of Fortuna is a project that we have been waiting for a long time: a space in which the past of our municipality will be valued, and which will also increase the tourist and cultural offer of the town".
