Elena Baeza and Joaquín Colomé, candidates of PLURAL DEMOCRACY to the Regional Assembly, publicly denounce the lamentable state of conservation of the Interpretation Center of the Sierra de la Pila Regional Park, in the municipality of Fortuna.
The building cost 896,000 euros, and it has been finished for eleven years but has never been opened to the public, alleging maintenance costs.
The candidates of PLURAL DEMOCRACY ask themselves: So, what was it built for?
The regional park could host nature sports to relieve pressure in other protected areas, could host environmental exposures and could be a reference in the promotion of Sustainable Tourism in the Region, according to Joaquín Colomé and Elena Baeza.
The building is owned by the City of Fortuna, lacks security measures, is in a sorry state of abandonment.

This building is located in the district of Fuente Blanca.
The construction was built thanks to 15% of the canon for environmental improvements paid by the mining industries each year to exploit quarries in public forests of the municipality, that is, it has been paid with "public money" that had an environmental purpose.
The General Directorate for the Environment, in its day, even bought the furniture of the building and apparently studied ways to open it, but never wanted to integrate it into the regional network of interpretation centers for protected areas.

The candidates of DEMOCRACY PLURAL think that this area can have many possibilities to promote Sustainable Tourism in the Region of Murcia.
It could also contribute to mitigate the existing rural depopulation in the area, encouraging the creation of jobs for young people in Fortuna and its districts.
The Governing Board of this protected space takes time without being convened and in the opinion of the candidates of PLURAL DEMOCRACY to the Regional Assembly is allowing to pass an unrepeatable opportunity for this beautiful area of ​​the Region of Murcia.
