The Guardia Civil arrested three gang members for the theft of four tons of fruit in Fortuna (02/11/2013)

One of those arrested has a history of committing similar crimes

The coordination between teams and Cieza Murcia ROCK has enabled the success of research

The Guardia Civil of the Region of Murcia has developed an investigation into the theft of nearly four tons of fruit on a farm of Fortuna which has resulted in the arrest of three members of a gang engaged in this type of crime.

The research, part of the 'Plan against theft on farms and livestock', started last week when the Meritorious learned, following a complaint, the commission of various fruit subtractions of Fortuna holding, where the authors had stolen about four tons of tangerines and pomegranates.

The result of the first indications obtained thanks to the cooperation of citizens, researchers were able to determine that the authors had used three vehicles to steal the fruit.

After identifying them, it was found how one of them had been controlled in the vicinity of the farm during one of the robberies, being seized of stolen fruit.

The investigation developed civil guards allowed to identify three people who allegedly were behind the theft of fruit on the farm, and in recent days had seized about four tons of tangerines and pomegranates, so established a monitoring device which has culminated in the arrests.

The discrete surveillance conducted on detainees now have established that the perpetrators of the acts were part of a 'clan' dedicated to theft of fruit, which then sold through weekly markets positions of Murcia.

Detained

The investigation culminated with the arrest of three members of the band, as suspects in the theft of large amounts of fruit, all identified as:

- Spanish, 31 years and resident of Beniel.

- Spanish, 30, resident of Murcia

- Spanish, 41 years and resident of Murcia.

One of those arrested has a criminal record for committing similar crimes.

Recovered Effects

It has recovered some of the stolen grenades on the estate of Fortuna, who after being brought to justice were returned to their rightful owner.

The detainees, effects recovered and proceedings have been brought before the Magistrate's Court in Murcia.

With these arrests has managed to dismantle a 'clan' organized and dedicated to the theft of fruit to later sell them at street markets a "modus operandi" which is particularly difficult to establish the relationship between fruit and authors subtracted from theft.

The research has been developed by Civil Guards safety specialist assigned to the newly created teams ROCK (theft in the field) and Cieza Murcia, with the specific task of investigating crimes related to theft on farms and ranches, in order to obtain a more effective policing in this type of crime.
